TMV SPOTLIGHT VIDEO - Amanda Shaw - "The Grey Lady Music Lounge Tunbridge Wells Gig"

The Grey Lady Music Lounge Tunbridge Wells gig!
Amanda | MySpace Music Videos

Amanda is currently working with producers on her songs, ultimately working on producing a five track EP album. Her main goal is to gain representation through a record label, so that she can release her own music, to have a marketing plan to go with this, and to get songs released and on the radio. At the present time, Amanda has been asked to sing for functions, pubs and other music venues, performing her material and covers. She performs in pubs, festivals and venues locally, and at the present time, has been promoting the release of the single 'Travelling,' produced by Forbes Coleman (FC Music Project). "Travelling" is now available from ITunes, and other downloadable sources. It will be directly available to buy through Reverb Nation, as well as her website.

Along with producing a five track EP, Amanda has been recording an acoustic album to sell at gigs. The idea of this album is that it is her live performance sound. This may appeal to anyone who prefers the acoustic, folk music sound. The album ‘Freefalling’ will be made available to buy at gigs shortly.

Amanda's own experience in music and the performing arts have been varied. The places she has performed include: Glyndebourne Opera House, Chequers Mead, East Grinstead, Lewes Town Hall; Ireland, London and for functions, and festivals. She is currently in two duos; one of which is a cover duo, and the other, she promotes her own music. At present Amanda is in the process of creating a band to accompany her performing my own material.

TMV FEATURED PRODUCT: RØDE S1 Microphone!

The RØDE S1 is designed specifically for 'no compromise' live vocal performance, but has also found a place in the studio where the performer wants to hold the recording mic.

The S1 utilises a true condenser transducer for studio quality sound reproduction. Its sophisticated high pass filter dramatically reduces undesirable low-frequency background and handling noise. The super cardioid pick-up pattern further limits background noise and virtually eliminates feedback.

The multi-stage mesh head filters breath, wind, and plosive noise without affecting sensitivity or frequency response. The hardened mesh head also protects the precision transducer from the rigors of live performance. The rugged ergonomic design of the S1 makes it extremely comfortable to hold and control during use.

The high level output of the S1 is electronically balanced to reduce loss over long cable runs.
• Studio recording quality specification
• Supercardioid polar pattern
• Rugged all metal construction
• Attractive satin nickel finish/Black model also available (S1-B)
• Heat treated high strength mesh head
• Custom designed internal plosives screen
• Low handling noise

Win RØDE S1 Microphone. Get details at "Win New Vocal Gear".

Well I can't hear the song you put, it's not allowing me too, but by what you've explained your genre seems to be somehwere between Alternative-Punk (Escape The Fate being a good example of Alternative-Punk) and something known as Pop-Mosh (a genre…

thanks for the tip, I'll check it out! Rock bands can be hard to label with a genre...we pull from different ones, but I think alternative-metal is our style. It's considered metal for some aggressive guitar and drum sections (use of dbl kick and 1…

^ I agree with Robert...great article. Hit the nail on the head -- I'm definitely a throaty singer myself and wonder about why my voice fatigues so quickly. Something to work on. In any case, what about techniques for harder singing (where raspiness…

First off two things: You scream in an altern band? and Saosin is altern? Those two things just 'cause I've barely heard altern bands that have 20% screaming and I've not heard much from Saosin but I thought they were metal. As for your question, i…

Danny Bullis added a discussion to the group Rock Vocals
Hey everyone. I'm the lead vocalist for an alternative metal band, and I do about 80% singing, 20% screaming. I prefer singing in the higher portions of my range, and I project pretty powerfully, ie. my voice remains full when I sing louder. It's ju…
